Saint Joseph?s Shankill, a service of Saint John of God Hospital
CLG, is the largest care home in Ireland solely dedicated to dementia

_DIRECTOR OF NURSING / PERSON IN CHARGE_

(PERMANENT, FULL-TIME)

ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT DEMENTIA CARE? We are seeking a new Director
of Nursing / Person in Charge who will be crucial to preserve the
culture of dementia care at Saint Joseph?s and to lead the team to
achieve the vision and strategy of the organisation.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES SHOULD BE FLEXIBLE AND COMMITTED AND FULFIL
THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

* A passion for leading innovative and pioneering methods to further
develop excellence in person centred dementia care.
* Current registration on the General / Psychiatric division of the
register maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Minimum of **Apply on the website** years? post registration
nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience of which
3 years were at a senior nursing management level including current
experience in care of the elderly/dementia.
* Comprehensive understanding of the National Standards for
Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland (HIQA **Apply on
the website**) and Health Act **Apply on the website** (Care and
Welfare of Residents in Designated Centres for Older People)
Regulations **Apply on the website**.
* Demonstrate excellent communication (both verbal and written),
organisational skills, flexibility and commitment.
* Demonstrate accountability for leading, directing, evaluating and
monitoring service delivery.
* A post graduate Diploma, or Masters in Gerontology, Dementia or
Healthcare is desirable.
